NIG appoints BDM head for Manchester office

Warren Bainbridge joins from AXA

Appointment completes NIG's top-level UK business development line-up

Commercial insurer NIG has completed its UK-wide Area Business Development Manager (ABDM) recruitment drive with the appointment of Warren Bainbridge as the ABDM for NIG's key Manchester office.

Warren joins NIG following an 18-year career at AXA Insurance, most recently as Regional Director for the North West with responsibility for two regional offices (Bolton & Manchester). At NIG, he will have business development responsibility for the Greater Manchester region as well North Wales, Merseyside and Lancashire, and play a senior role in an office with an overall team of 40. He will report to Dave Parry, NIG's Director of Sales and Distribution.

Forming part of a major investment programme by NIG in its regional offices and regional capability, Warren's appointment is NIG's fifth ABDM appointment across the UK in the past four months. Ruth Owen joined as ABDM covering the Greater London area in October 2011 while more recent ABDM hires include Don Oakley in Bristol, Alistair Body in Watford and Alan Brett in Maidstone. In total, NIG has eight regional offices.

Warren Bainbridge, Area Business Development Manager - Manchester for NIG, said: "There is a huge opportunity to work with brokers across the region and their SME clients. The North West is a dynamic region and I know that NIG can substantially develop its business with its core SME client base. I will remain focused on delivering these results both in relation to business development and account management to business partners old and new."

Dave Parry, Director of Sales and Distribution at NIG, said: "We are delighted to welcome Warren to the role, and, now that the recruitment drive is complete, look forward to seeing our business develop in each of the regions. Bringing someone with the level experience that Warren offers will be vital to our operations in the North West - a market of huge importance for NIG.

"Each ABDM has brought with them considerable skills and experience to NIG at a time when we are investing in new products, staff development and talent, our underwriting and risk capability, and technology to grow market share in our chosen market segments. We had a very busy, progressive year in 2011 and Warren's appointment is an excellent way to start 2012."
