NIG Wins Contract to Underwrite Events Insurance Services

Leading commercial insurer NIG has won the contract to underwrite the multi-million GWP core business of Event Insurance Services Ltd (EIS), the UK's leading events insurance intermediary. NIG has won the business from an incumbent insurer primarily on the basis of its strong business support and effective underwriting platform supporting EIS' plans to substantially grow GWP volume over the next three years.

EIS is a specialised intermediary operating within the private and corporate sectors offering quality insurance tailored to fit the scale and style of various occasions - from school fetes and small ceremonies to high profile weddings and events. The service has a 95% renewal/repeat business retention rate and benefits from long-standing relationships with some 2,500 insurance brokers throughout the UK. EIS also has a network of introducers from over 1,000 UK venues, outlets and support services in the wedding and event industry.

The deal with EIS is an indication of a re-energised focus by NIG on winning new business in 2012 as it looks to grow its position within the SME market offering authoritative, innovative products supported by top-class regional business teams.
